Surgery

Whether your pet needs to be spayed or neutered, or is facing a more complicated procedure, the doctors and staff at Vicksburg Animal Hospital have years of surgical experience.

Modern anesthetic procedures and surgical monitoring equipment have made surgery much safer than it was in the past. Prior to any procedure, we recommend running blood work on your pet to help minimize unforeseen complications. Our state-of-the-art blood analyzers enable us to get results in less than a half hour, and can inform our doctors of your pet’s liver and kidney function, as well as red and white blood cell counts.

The doctors at Vicksburg Animal Hospital also recommend administering medication prior to surgery to help minimize pain for your pet during and after the procedure. During surgery, your pet is monitored by our experienced technicians for proper heart rate and blood pressure. After the procedure, we continue to monitor your pet to insure they are recovering and ready to go back home with you as soon as possible.
